Gavin Johnston

Senior Event Manager

Gavin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from St. John’s University. After college, Gavin started his sports career with the New York Jets as a Football Operations Assistant, assisting with daily scheduling, team travel, recruiting activities and a liaison to all team members.

A Sports professional with 12 years of experience in complex business operations and administration with specific focus on fiscal management, strategic planning and event operations. Gavin joined the United States Tennis Association (USTA) on March 17, 2014, as Administrative Assistant, Training Center-East. Coordinated, reviewed and processed invoices, including preparation of expense reports for General Manager. His responsibility included, supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility as well as providing assistance to Player Development staff. Gavin has held a few different roles during his time at USTA. During his most recent role, as Senior- Manager of Operations, he worked with partners for the planning and execution for the US OPEN.  Effectively leading and managing a staff of twenty employees involved in the operation of two National Training centers on the East & West Coast. Gavin provided planning (logistical, financial, operational), administrative & documentation support to Head of Men’s & Women’s Tennis. Assist General Manager with special related projects from a systems management lens.

Most recently Gavin relocated to Atlanta, GA with S.A.F.E. Management to help oversee and manage Mercedes-Benz Stadium Home to the Atlanta Falcons and United along with the Georgia World Congress Center. Gavin is excited to join the S.A.F.E. team here in Atlanta and looks forward to growing within Sports & Entertainment.

Gavin has two kids, a wife and a dog named Bean.
