Born in Detroit, MI, Jalen attended Central Michigan University where he graduated in June 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Sports Management and Legal Studies. While at CMU, Jalen was involved with the Men’s Basketball Team as a Team Manager, Women’s Basketball Practice Player, and Facility Manager in the CMU Campus Recreation Department.
After graduating from CMU, Jalen was an Facilities and Events Intern at UCLA where he Coordinated and managed events in each venue such as Angel City Games, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camps, Nickelodeon® Kids’ Choice Sports Awards, and Chelsea FC Pre-Season Tour.
After the completion of his internship, Jalen attended Virginia Commonwealth University to receive his master’s in Sport Leadership. While attending VCU, Jalen was a Graduate Assistant for Facilities and Events for VCU’s Campus Recreation Department where he Coordinated 200+ internal and external facilities reservations and provided supervision of special events.
Shortly after receiving his master’s degree, Jalen was a Coordinator of Facilities and Events at Towson University where he managed a team of 25 part-time employees to execute the scheduling and event coordination of campus recreation activities across Burdick Hall, Turf Fields, and associated CR facilities.
Jalen joined the Michigan S.A.F.E. Team in July 2021 as an Office and Event Coordinator. He is excited to return home as he looks forward to continuing to grow, learn, and enhance his leadership skills to make an impact on the event/sports industry.
