Michael graduated from Towson University in 2014 with a BS in Political Science, and in 2020 got his MSL in Cybersecurity Law and Policy, which included a minor in Crisis and Emergency Management, from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
Just prior to joining the S.A.F.E. Nevada team, Michael was a Senior Policy Analyst with the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security (CHHS). He supported projects for the Charles County, MD, Department of Emergency Services, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission Office of Emergency Management, and the District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency, Presidential Inauguration Committee.
From 2022 – 2026 Michael was a voting member on the Maryland State 9-1-1 Board, serving as Chair of the Board’s Cybersecurity Subcommittee, and contributed subject matter expertise to multiple regional working groups, including the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MW COG), National Capital Region (NCR) Cybersecurity Regional Programmatic Working Group, and MW COG NCR Critical Infrastructure Protection Working Group. In 2022 Michael was part of the group who updated the NCR Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment and Stakeholder Preparedness Review.
In addition to his work with S.A.F.E. Michael is a Cybersecurity Adjunct Instructor for the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center.
